Role: Lead Digital Designer

Readers.com Rebranding

Once the leadership team at FGX International had finalized a new brand direction for Readers.com in partnership with ROWE Creative Union, our in-house team was tasked with the role of implementing the new brand guidelines across all touchpoints.

My focus was revitalizing website graphics and email designs, ensuring alignment with the newly established branding. Collaborating closely with our developers, UX designer, photographer, and creative director, I played a key role in harmonizing visual elements across digital platforms. Building on that experience, I have since taken on the role of lead designer, actively expanding upon the established design guidelines. Focused on optimizing performance and adapting to the evolving needs of the brand.

The Process

Working with cross-functional teams, we strategically identified key touchpoints to be updated in the coming months. Anticipating an imminent website migration due to our company's acquisition and a deeper integration with our parent company, our team devised the following plan.

  • Our initial focus involved a comprehensive update of the logo, brand colors, and typography across all touchpoints. This foundational step set the tone for the visual evolution that would follow.

  • Next we meticulously built a library of design elements and components in Figma. This not only ensured brand consistency but also facilitated seamless integration across various digital platforms. Additionally, a photoshoot was conducted to provide fresh imagery aligning with the renewed brand focus.

  • Elevating the user experience, we delved into updating layouts and overall design to seamlessly incorporate the new brand elements. This phase marked a visual transformation aimed at reflecting the essence of the brand's evolution.

  • A review of our Key Performance Indicators (KPI)s guided us in identifying areas for improvement. We have been implementing A/B testing to continually refine and develop design elements to enhance the brand's impact.
